‘Karun’ to vie at Vaasa filmfest

Iranian documentary ‘Karun’ has made its way to the Vaasa Wildlife Festival in Finland.

Directed by Mohammad Ehsani, the doc will compete at the TV Productions & Independent Section of the 2022 edition of the event.

‘Karun’ focuses on the environmental challenges that Karun River faces. It also shows the historical and cultural background of the river.

The 52-minute documentary contended at several international film festivals, including Zaragoza Int’l Film Festival in Spain, Int’l Ecological Festival “To Save and Preserve” in Russia and Red Island Int’l Film Festival in the US.

The Vaasa Wildlife Festival aims to host films with themes that are related to climate change, people's relationship with nature, and conservation.

The festival will be held from September 28 to October 2, 2022.
